Friday is the kick off for the Tamworth Country Music Festival. The excitement is building! With this being our first festival, we greet it with much intrepidation. Our predecessor wasn’t a great record keeper so we are keeping our fingers crossed, in hope that we haven’t missed any bookings.
The streets are being blocked off, traffic redirected and campsites are filling. I don’t envy them in this weather. With an expected temperature of 40-42 C for most of the festival, I can’t think of anything worse than camping. Tamworth population is normally around 41,000 but with the festival this number often swells to around 300,000. Here at Tamworth Central Motel we have limited rooms available so please call to book.
There are so many acts in town, I hope we can get away briefly to have a look around and listen to some of the amazing buskers. Some of the bigger names performing this year include Beccy Cole, Troy Casser-Daly, Adam Brand, Casey Chambers and of course Keith Urban. We are very lucky to have such a wonderful variety of artists in this country.
