Tamworth Events are many and varied

Tamworth events and activities are featured here. The city of Tamworth is a regional centre point in the New England area of New South Wales and a part of the Tamworth Regional Council. Tamworth is approximately 310 km from Queensland and is situated roughly half way between Sydney and Brisbane.

The Kamiloroi people are the traditional custodians of Tamworth.

Among other things, Tamworth is know for the fact that it was the first town in Australia to have functioning electric street lights. And of course in January of every year, with all of the other Tamworth events considered, Tamworth joyfully lives up to its reputation as the Country Music Capital of Australia when we host the Tamworth Country Music Festival.

We also boast the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre; an impressive facility and arguably the largest such facility in the Southern Hemisphere. Here we also earn our reputation as the Equine Capital of Australia with numerous events taking place every year. This is just one of the many Tamworth events we encourage you to enjoy.

Whatever your reason for visiting or choosing Tamworth as your home, we hope you’ll enjoy the introductory hospitality that the Tamworth Central Motel has to offer as your first port of call.
